Libraries Week 2022

Updated: Mar 13, 2023

Libraries Week 2022 runs from 3rd to 9th October and gives libraries and their supporters an opportunity to champion the role of libraries in local communities across the UK.

The theme this year is ‘never stop learning’ and the week will celebrate the nation’s much-loved libraries and the central role that libraries play in supporting life-long learning, as well as showcasing how libraries across all sectors are inspiring learning for all and helping individuals to unlock and fulfil their potential at every stage of life.

Public libraries play a vital role in supporting many aspects of learning – whether that be developing IT skills, sourcing information, studying for school or other qualifications, applying for jobs, or researching benefits information. Libraries are a one-stop shop for all sorts of resources and information, and their staff will almost certainly signpost users to somewhere else if they can’t help.

And with the ever-increasing provision of technology in public libraries, users are better placed than ever to access computers, tablets, e-books, and even games consoles, as well as the space to use them and support on hand to help.

This community resource is something that deserves to be celebrated and championed, so Insight Media would like to say ‘Happy Libraries Week’ to all our customers!
